Ageless Racial Archetypes and The Divine Intervention in Battle

THE MOTIVE: Homer Iliad - Book XVII

Two rival groups of warriors fight over the dead body of Patroclus.

According to the Iliad, Patroclus enters the battle with the weapons and armour of Achilles. After killing many Trojans, Patroclus 'wits removed by Apollo, after which Patroclus were hit with the spear of Euphorbos. Hector then killed Patroclus by stabbing him in the stomach with a spear. The battle of two armies erupts over the dead body of the fallen hero.
