By
Varg Vikernes

Byzantium = Gondor
Germany, France = Rohan
England = Shire
Scotland/Ireland = Dunland
Finland = Mirkwood (Wood Elves)
Turks = Orcs
Arabs = Haradrim/Southrons
Rome = Isengard
The Pope = Saruman
Israel = Mordor
Mount Zion = Mount Doom
The Ring = Abrahamism (all three)

BLOG'S COMMENT :
Personally I believe things are not so black/white. There are grey areas too.  As we know Tolkien took also many based on his WWI expirience. Also I see a lot of Wagner influence too. Especially to the ring symbolism.
But nevertheless Varg's view point is for sure very intresting and at a big part accurate. We all shall agree that Tolkien used a lot of Myths from all of Europe. Thats why, despite the European country each of us comes from, we all can relate to his stories.

    It's always interesting to read Varg's view points. I think he just tried to show that whole civilization is rotten to the core. By comparing it to Tolkien's Middle Earth he clearly shows that Europeans folks are in danger and the they have to fight to survive. On the other hand one could say that Gondor was very ''civilized'' unlike Hobbits whose lifestyle was more tribal. There are many interpretations of Tolkien's stories and yes, there is Wagnerian influence for sure.
