Imia Memorial Gatherings 2009

The annual Imia memorial gatherings, in memory of the three officers of the Hellenic Navy that were killed by Turkish fire in the rocky island of Imia, in January 1996, constitute one of the biggest nationalist demonstrations in Europe. The significance of the event is not only to honor these Heroes who sacrificed their lives for their country, but it is also a clear statement that the people of Hellas don’t want Turkey as a member of the European Union, against the traitorous government’s foreign policies.

Thirteen years after the tragic incident in Imia that proved the Turkish aggression over the Aegean Sea and during numerous military violations in the area by Turkey, this year’s events proved to be massive and dynamic.

On Friday 30th of January 2009, 400 members of the Golden Dawn Movement gathered in the centre of Piraeus, were stands the statue of officer Vlachakos, one of the fallen Heroes, in order to show their respect. After the ceremony, there was a rally in the streets of Piraeus and many people joined the nationalists, expressing their anger against Turkish aggression.

The main gathering took place in central Athens, in the Imia Memorial, near the parliament, on Saturday 31st of January 2009. Thousands of Golden Dawn members and nationalists paid their duty in memory of the fallen Heroes. A well disciplined mass of nationalists rallied through the streets of Athens to the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, just outside the Hellenic parliament, where a big number of police forces prohibited the rally to move further.

This year’s events were very well organized and well attended. Hellas nationalists showed that they don’t forget our country’s Heroes and are not going to let happen the Zionist plans of Turkish entrance in the E.U.

Starting 2009 with MYTHOLOGICAL OCCULT METAL!

A good start for this year. I keep hearing since 1-2 years now about the Return of Mythological Occult Metal masters ABSU. I like this band since the release of their debut masterpiece "Barathrum V.I.T.R.I.O.L." and i`ll be always intrested in their stuff despite their line-up changes or delays of releasing their albums . Coming back to the subject, i`m always very sceptical about such "returns" , especially if the band have a radical change in their line-up status. So whats better to download and listen the album first before trying to invest any money on it. ABSU newest album simply titled "Absu". I just heard and i can assure you that its a great come-back for sure! There is not much change in their musical and lyrical direction. "Absu" is a perfect follow-up to their previous album "Tara". To my eyes and ears ABSU had always a unique approach in their concept and with "Absu" proved that they managed through their years to keep untouched this aspects that made them so special in their long existance. Have not read the lyrics of the new album yet, but judging from the titles , fortunately there is not a change. Also the cover of the album is in my opinion looks great (The unique lyrical/musical concept i mentioned before). Reminds me some Heavy Metal bands from the early 80`s or some progressive 70`s stuff. A really magical cover that goes perfectly hand in hand with the the rest aspects of this full-length. Kris Verwimp did an outstanding piece of art again!

Great news on the horizon!

German label World Terror Comitee is going to re-issue in the near future the first and already classic album of Sigrblot "Blodsband (Blood Religion Manifest)". The album is remixed and for all those who missed the opportunity to get the already sold-out Vinyl version of the album, the 11 min. long bonus LP track "Endtime Communion" will be included in this re-release as well.
